Mysuru:  A bike rider was killed on the spot while the pillion rider sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle they were travelling in, collided with an auto in Bamboo Bazar near Highway  Circle in Bannimantap on Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Chandan (20), a resident of Kaverinagar near Bannimantap, while the injured pillion rider, who has been identified as Nikhil, 20 of Kalmanti in Srirangapatna taluk, is being treated at a city hospital.

The accident occurred when the Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle on which Chandan and Nikhil were riding, collided head on with an auto in Bamboo Bazar close to Highway Circle.

The N.R. Traffic Police, who visited the spot, have registered a case in this regard.
