Rider killed in bike-lorry collision

Mysuru: A motorcyclist was killed on-the-spot when the two-wheeler he was riding collided head on with an oncoming lorry at Karanji Lake Junction on Karanji Tank Bund Road here on Thursday.

G.C. Radhakrishna (23), a student of an Engineering College in city and son of one Singappa of Gundenahalli in Gauribidanur taluk of Chikkaballapur district, is the deceased.

Radhakrishna, who had come to his uncle’s house at Giridarshini Layout, was going to his college riding his Pulsar Motorcycle (KA-04 JS-9884) on Lokranjan Mahal Road at about 10.30 am on Thursday, when a speeding Lorry (KA-01 AH-2329) coming from Lalitha Mahal side fatally knocked him down at Karanji Lake Junction, just as he took a right turn.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
