Rider sees leopard; falls from bike at Srirangapatna

Mandya: A youth, riding his bike to his village suffered injuries after he fell from the vehicle when a leopard came suddenly onto the road near T.M. Hosur in Srirangapatna taluk last night.

The injured youth is Mahesh, a resident of Kaalenahalli village.

Mahesh was proceeding to his village when a leopard suddenly appeared in front of his bike. Terrified, Mahesh lost control and fell. He sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, some people who came on the same route took Mahesh to Srirangapatna Hospital.

It may be recalled that leopards are being sighted frequently by the villagers and recently a pet dog was killed and partially devoured by a leopard.

Meanwhile, the staff of the Forest Department rushed to the spot and inspected the place.
