Riders assault Traffic Cop on duty

Mysuru, Sept.3 (SPN&KS)- A Traffic Constable, who questioned two bike riders for jumping traffic signal, was assaulted by the riders at the Hootagalli Traffic Signal on Mysuru-Hunsur Road here on Saturday.

While Constable, who was assaulted, is Kenchappa, the persons who assaulted him are Kaushik and Lokesh.

On Aug.31 at about 7.25 pm, Constable Kenchappa was performing his duty near the traffic signal, when Kaushik and Lokesh, who came from KRS side, ignored the red signal and proceeded towards  KHB Colony.

When the Constable stopped them and questioned them for jumping the signal, the duo abused Kenchappa using foul language and assaulted him, according to the complaint lodged by Kenchappa at Vijayanagar Police Station.
