Rly. Pensioner collapses in Bank, dies

Mysore/Mysuru: A retired Railway officer, who had gone to the Bank to draw his pension, died of a massive heart attack in the Bank itself on Wednesday morning in the city.

B.G. Ramdas Nayak (90), a retired Superintendent of SWR and a resident of Aishwarya Layout in Kuvempunagar, is the deceased.

Ramdas Nayak, who is also a Trustee of the city’s Valmiki Samaj Trust, had gone to SBI (State Bank of India) at Jayanagar to draw his monthly pension yesterday morning. Minutes later, Nayak suffered a heart attack in the Bank and collapsed. The Bank Manager immediately rushed him in his car to nearby Apollo Hospital. But by then, Nayak had passed away, it is learnt.

Ramdas Nayak leaves behind his wife Kemapamma, two sons, including M.R. Chandrashekar, a Senior Section Engineer of Railways and also a Director of Railway Co-operative Bank, three daughters, family members and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill today.
