Rotary Mysore Children’s Library (RMCL), located at Rotary Centre on JLB Road, as part of its 68th year of service, will be conducting inter-school chess competition on Dec. 1 at Phoenix International Academy on KRS Road between  8.30 am and 5.30 pm.

The contest will be held in three categories — LKG to 4th Std.; 5th Std. to 7th Std. and 8th Std. to 10th Std. Certificates and attractive prizes will be presented to the winners. Last date for students to register names for the contest is Nov. 30.

Rotary Mysore Children’s Library has been working towards promoting reading and speaking fluency amongst the younger generation. One of the oldest libraries of Mysuru, it has a well- equipped library with hundreds of books, both in English and Kannada. It works towards procuring quality books for children to ensure that they are inspired and encouraged to read and engage with the world of books. It also has Kindle readers which allow children to access a wider variety of books through the use of smart technology.
