Robbing devotees atop Chamundi Hill: Two women held

Mysuru: K.R. Police, based on CCTV footages of two women stealing money from vanity bags of devotees atop Chamundi Hill, have arrested the duo when they had come to steal on Sept. 1. The accused have been identified as 55-year-old Nanjamma of Tammadahalli village and 28-year-old Sowmya alias Rekha of Kagepura, both in Malavalli taluk of  Mandya district. During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of stealing money from vanity bags of women devotees during rush and the Cops have recovered Rs. 2,000 pertaining to two cases. The accused have also confessed of spending the remaining money.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and KR Sub-Dicvision Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dharmappa supervised KR Inspector B.N. Prakash and staff Subramani, Nalini, Mukhadar Sharif, Lakshminarayanaraju and others in the nabbing and recovery operation.
