Rohit Kalale selected for ‘Puttasri Samman’

Rohit Kalale, a budding tabla player from Mysuru, has been selected for ‘Puttasri Samman’ award for the year 2019, instituted by Guru Puttaraja Sangeetha Sabha of Mysuru in memory of Pandit Puttaraj Gawai. A student of Bhimashankar Bidanur of Guru Puttaraja Gawai Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Mysuru, Rohit is the son of industrialist Bhaskar Kalale and Asha Kalale. The award, which carries Rs.5,000 cash prize and a citation, will be presented at music programme, ‘Bhiravadinda Bhairavi’ which will be held at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavan in city to mark the 9th death anniversary of Pt. Puttaraja Gawai on Dec.1.
