JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research to offer Certificate Programmes, B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Yoga

Mysore/Mysuru: Stress is a constant factor in today’s fast-paced life that can jeopardise our health if left unchecked. These are the times of the pandemic of Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 which has forced mankind to live in fear, anxiety causing depression.

The problem caused by the pandemic has to be faced. Yoga, which is an ancient Indian Science, will help to modulate and maintain our immune system which in turn will help to deal with the complications of Coronavirus.

Strengthening our immune system and following rules & regulations laid down by our Government is the only way to fight this pandemic as of now.  Research indicates that stress can even contribute to the development of major illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, depression and obesity or exacerbate existing health issues.

There is mounting evidence that a stressful life influences a variety of physical health problems later in life which may have long-term consequences for immune dysregulation.

The influence of Yoga on stress reduction and its benefits on mental health has boosted its demand in recent years.

JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (formerly JSS University), Mysuru, is implementing Yoga in its curriculum by starting Department of Yoga from the academic year 2020-2021 which will offer Certificate Programmes, B.Sc., and M.Sc., in Yoga programmes (UGC approved).
