Rotary Brindavan fetes progressive farmers

April 3, 2018

Mysuru: A mega event was organised by Rotary Brindavan at Thambi Thota to felicitate three progressive farmers of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts recently.

Shivasubramanyam, Vasanthi and Yogesh were honoured by Club President Rtn K. Prakash for their contribution to  modern farming technology. They have earned a reputation for their quality produce of Banana, Turmeric, Coconut, Sugarcane and vegetables using modem hybrid and tissue culture techniques. Their entire farm is covered by drip irrigation to ensure minimum water consumption with maximum yield.

Incidentally, Yogesh (brother of Rtn. J. Mahesh) is also known for  his service to the downtrodden and tribal community. Yogesh is striving hard to improve the tourist infrastructure at B. R. Hills. He has been now elected as ZP President of Chamarajanagar.  Club President Rtn. K. Prakash while honouring Yogesh, assured the support of Rotary for any community service projects in the area.
