Mysuru:  Rotary Mysore North and Karnataka Muktaka Sahitya Academy Trust had organised a function at Rotary Hall on JLB Road here on Friday to confer ‘Rotary-Muktaka Sahitya Award’ on Sharanappa N. Metri, retired Technical Supervisor, BSNL. The award was presented by Rotary Mysore North President M.K. Nanjaiah.

Inaugurating the programme, KSOU Kannada Professor Dr. Jyoti Shankar commended the organisers for identifying and honouring people who have worked for Kannada literature.

She said that Muktaka Sahitya was a great contribution to literature which explains important topics relevant to society in simple words.

Trust President S. Ramprasad, General Secretary M.B. Santosh, Cultural Sub-Committee Chairman N. Girigowda, Rotary Mysore North Secretary S.H. Jagadish, Community Service Director B.S. Shivarudrappa and others were present.
