Rotary Mysore Midtown Venus Shramajeevi Awards conferred

Mysuru: V.R. Sheshadri, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Saraswathipuram Police Station and A. Maheshwara, Senior Traffic Warden, were presented with Rotary Mysore Midtown Venus Shramajeevi Award at Rotary Hall on JLB Road in city recently.

B.S. Prashanth, President of Federation of Organisations and Associations of Mysuru (FOAM), presented the awards to both the hardworking professionals.

In his address, Prashanth said, the vehicle riders should follow traffic rules without fail and tell the whole world that, Mysureans are law-abiding citizens too. “Mysuru, known for its tourist attractions and cultural activities, should make a mark by imbibing a better conduct,” advised Prashanth, who expressed his concern over the people on the flipside, flouting traffic rules, that has resulted in Police deputed to regulate traffic to work in duress. To avoid stress on Police, everybody should follow traffic rules, he said.

Lauding Maheshwara for his spirited demeanour even at the ripe age of 80, Prashanth said, he has been rendering his voluntary service as a Traffic Warden at the Circle in front of Crawford Hall. Being a strict disciplinarian, he has been a role model for the middle aged persons for the way he shows his public commitment.

Sheshadri, irrespective of his work pressure, rushes to help the needy within the ambit of law. In whichever place he has worked, he has discharged his duties truly as a ‘Friendly Police,’ explained Prashanth, recalling several incidents, where Sheshadri helped the victims/ survivors.
