Mysuru:  “Marks alone should not be the yardstick in the life of a student,” opined Dr. Nilagiri M. Talwar, Director, Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS). He was speaking after presenting Rotary-Yashaswi Pratibha Puraskar to over 12 meritorious students who had excelled in the SSLC and PUC examinations at a function organised jointly by Rotary Mysore North and Yashaswi Foundation at Rotary Hall on JLB Road here on Friday.

Dr. Talwar advised students not to be confined to just marks but suggested them to participate in extra curricular activities to hone communication skills.

He also asked students to focus on human and social values.

Rotary Mysore North President Rajashekar Kadamba, Secretary B.R. Shivakumar, Yashaswi Foundation Chief S. Somashekar and others were present.
