Rotary Mysore distributes 230 insulin bags to rural beneficiaries
Mysore/Mysuru: Rotary Mysore, in observance of Rotary International’s Disease Prevention and Treatment Month, distributed over 230 insulin storage bags to patients in need. This impactful initiative was made possible through the sponsorship of Sunil of Living Style Furniture.
The distribution ceremony was attended by eminent medical and community leaders, including Dr. K.R. Dakshayani, Dean & Director, MMC&RI; Sunil & family, Living Style; Dr. H. Sunil, Governing Council Member; D. Ravi Shankar, President, Rotary Mysore; G. Sanjay, Secretary, Rotary Mysore; Dr. N. Pradeep, Head of Paediatrics; Dr. Nagendra, In-charge, Paediatric Diabetic Clinic; Dr. M. R. Savitha, Senior Professor. Alongside these dignitaries, several Rotarians were present to extend their support and solidarity, underscoring Rotary’s collective commitment to community health.
These specially designed insulin bags will enable patients to safely carry and store insulin at the required temperature, ensuring continuity of treatment and better health outcomes. Many of the beneficiaries travelled from rural areas located 20 to 30 kilometres outside Mysuru, highlighting the critical need for accessible healthcare support in underserved communities.
Speaking at the event, Rotary Mysore President emphasised the organisation’s dedication to community health, preventive care and patient support, aligning with Rotary’s global mission to fight disease and strengthen healthcare systems.
