Rs. 2 lakh accident insurance scheme launched

Mysore/Mysuru: The Labour Department has registered unorganised workers classified under 379 categories for the Rs.2 lakh accident Insurance scheme — Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana — through e-Shram portal. The registration of unorganised workers was done between Aug. 26, 2021 and Mar. 31, 2022.

Accordingly, the families of this insurance covered workers who died in accident, can avail compensation under the scheme by submitting the Aadhaar Card number, e-Shram card number, Death Certificate and Medical Certificate that explains the cause of death of the beneficiary.

Also, those who became disabled due to accident can apply for insurance compensation by submitting the required documents. The eligible beneficiaries can apply at the Labour Office located on New Kantharaj Urs Road in Kuvempunagar. For more details, call Ph: 0821- 2343990.
