Cops arrest accused within 24 hours; one of the accused is victim’s friend
Mysore/Mysuru: Vidyaranyapuram Police have arrested two persons on charges of stealing Rs. 3 lakh cash kept in the dicky of a scooter and have recovered the cash besides seizing a two-wheeler used for the crime. The accused were arrested within 24 hours of them committing the crime.
The arrested are 41-year-old Idayat, a mechanic and a resident of Nachanahalli Palya and 37-year-old Raju, an auto driver and a resident of Srirampura 3rd Stage. Idayat is the friend of the victim, identified as Sajid of Nachanahalli Palya.
Sajid, who had purchased a house, had kept Rs. 3 lakh in the dicky of his scooter, which was to be given to the owner of the house. Sajid had parked his scooter in front of a bakery at J.P. Nagar and had gone to meet an advocate and by the time he came back, the accused had stolen the cash.
DCPs Dr. A.N. Prakash Gowda (Law and Order) and M.S. Geetha Prasanna (Crime and Traffic) and K.R. Sub-Division ACP Poornachandra Tejaswi guided Vidyaranyapuram Inspector B. Manjunath, Sub-Inspector Rangaswamy, ASI Shanthakumar and staff Maheshwar, Ramesh, Nataraju, S. Ravi, Kiran, Uma Mahesh and Ankappa in the nabbing and recovery operation.
