Rs. 81.90 lakh seized at Rammanahalli

Mysore/Mysuru: The Static Surveillance Team (SST) members have seized Rs. 81.90 lakh cash, which was being transported in a car without valid documents, at Rammanahalli Check Post in Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency yesterday night.

Yesterday at about 8.30 pm, the SST members manning Rammanahalli Check Post stopped a Tata Tiago EV car (KA-09-MJ-4996) coming from Mandya side and inspected the vehicle during which SST head Naveen and staff found Rs. 81.90 lakh cash and seized the money.

Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) L.M. Nandeesh, Tahsildar Mahesh Kumar and Income Tax officials, who reached the spot and enquired three persons in the car, who were carrying the cash.

As the car occupants failed to  provide a convincing answer about the source of cash and also failed to produce  relevant documents, the SST officials seized the cash, it is said.
