Mysore/Mysuru: Bharatiya Parivartana Sangha (BPS), as part of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti celebration, will be conducting a State-level ‘Run for Equality’ marathon in city on Apr. 14.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan on Monday, BPS Convener Sosale Siddaraju said, the 15-km ‘Run for Equality’ will begin from Town Hall at 6.30 am and pass through Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle (Hardinge Circle), Sanskrit Patashala, Agrahara Circle, Siddappa Square, RTO Circle, Ashoka Circle, Law Courts Complex, Crawford Hall, Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Circle (Metropole Hotel Circle), Dr. Jagjivan Ram Circle (near Railway Station), K.R. Hospital and Ashoka Road to culminate at Town Hall.
The winners will be given cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 (first), Rs. 5,000 (second), Rs. 3,000 (third) and Rs. 1,000 (fourth and fifth) and trophies. White T-shirts will be provided for all the runners. Registration fee is Rs. 100. More than 200 members from various parts of the State are expected to participate in the marathon. Participants from Chitradurga, Bengaluru and Ballari have already registered their names, he said.
BPS Secretary Prabhuswamy, Vice-President Mahadevu, members Dinakar, Srinivas Paduvaralli, Prathap and others were present at the press meet.
