Sir,
The train number 12007/12008 Shatabdi Express runs between Mysuru and Chennai Central via Bengaluru but operates for only 6 days a week except Tuesdays. It is given to understand that the train otherwise undergoes a weekly overhaul on Tuesdays at Chennai Central.
Further there is an urgent necessity now to run Shatabdi Express connecting Chennai Central from Mysuru via Bengaluru on all the days of the week. The present arrangement of 6 days a week and non-availability on Tuesdays is inconveniencing many passengers. As such there is no alternative arrangement to travel to Chennai Central from Mysuru, in lieu of non-operation of the train on Tuesdays.
It is suggested to extend the operation of Shatabdi Express on all the seven days of the week for the benefit of rail passengers commuting between Chennai Central-Mysuru and Bengaluru. The Railways can further plan to undertake weekly overhaul at Mysuru itself on Tuesdays and thus provide an opportunity to avail the Shatabdi Express service for an entire week from Mysuru.
Hence, South Western Railway authorities at Mysuru Division are requested to make necessary arrangements to operate 12007/12008 Chennai Central-Mysuru Shatabdi Express on all the days of the week instead of existing six days of operation.
