Warns of Bengaluru Chalo

Mysore/Mysuru: Recognised Unaided Private Schools Association (RUPSA) has issued a deadline of Aug. 21 to the State Government to consider its various demands, to end corruption in the Department of School Education and Literacy and put an end to  the injustice meted to private educational institutions  across the State.

The Association has also warned that the Karnataka Private Unaided Schools Federation, will close schools as a protest in case the Government fails to respond to their appeals.

In a press conference recently, RUPSA State President Lepakshi Halanur said that, a deadline of Aug. 21 has been issued to the Department of  School Education and Literacy.

“The Department has prescribed 64 factors and obtaining records has made things difficult for educational institutions to get renewal. The Government must curb corruption in the Department and drop the move to collect tax arrears from private educational institutions. We have given a deadline of 14 days to the Government,” added Lepakshi Halanur. He also urged the Government, to hold discussions with RUPSA and warned to close schools and take out Bengaluru Chalo, otherwise.

It is alleged that, officials of Education Department are harassing the institutions for the last four years and tax is being illegally collected from them on sites and buildings used for academic purposes. There are also complaints against the Department officials on other issues. Many private educational institutions have announced their support to RUPSA.
