Rural postal employees launch indefinite stir

Mysuru:  Seeking implementation of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission (Kamleshchandra Committee Report), rural postal employees (Grameena Dak Sevaks), under the banner of All India Grameena Dak Sevaks Union (AIGDSU) began an indefinite stir in front of Yadavagiri Post Office at Akashavani Circle in city this morning.

Accusing the Union Government of sitting on Kamaleshchandra Committee Report, the Dak Sevaks demanded implementation of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, which has accorded several benefits to Dak Sevaks, who toil hand every day covering over a dozen villages travelling more than 50 kilometres.

Alleging discrimination in wages, they urged the Union Government to meet their just demand.

AIGUDSU office-bearers S.R. Somashekar, N.S. Ravichandra, Manchaiah, Rajkumar, Jaganath and others took part in the protest.
