The conclave was led by Prof. Dwarika Prasad Uniyal, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Campus Director of RV University Mysuru, along with Dr. Karthik Shastry, Dr. Shushrutha, Dr. Shweta Panchal and Dr. Madhu Karnat. The event was coordinated by Lt. Cdr. A.P. Belliappa (retd.) and Rini Sushmitha.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Uniyal underlined RV University’s mission to “bridge the academic and aspirational gap between Class 12 and University education.”
He emphasised that partnerships with PU and Degree Colleges should go beyond admissions, evolving into long-term academic collaborations that benefit students and educators alike.
Highlighting the University’s vision for Mysuru, he said, “RV University aspires not just to be in Mysuru, but of Mysuru — working with the city’s people, industries and institutions to create sustainable and locally relevant solutions.”
Speakers at the conclave discussed how Universities can act as engines of urban growth, promoting employment, research and innovation.
Prof. Uniyal also called for expanding aspirations beyond traditional professional programmes, noting the crucial role of disciplines like Psychology, Pure Sciences and Social Sciences in building a strong research and knowledge- driven society.
