S. Kumar (58), a journalist, who was serving as Srirangapatna Taluk Reporter, passed away following a heart attack at a private hospital in Mysuru yesterday.

He leaves behind his wife Prema, son Ranjan, daughter Shilpa, son-in-law Kiran Kumar, brothers Shantesh and Nagaraju and a host of relatives and friends.

Kumar suffered a heart attack at his home at about 5 am on Monday and was rushed to Jayadeva Hospital in Mysuru, where he was treated and was later shifted to a private hospital on advice from the doctors, where he breathed his last at about 6 pm. Last rites were held at Shambhuningaiahna Katte on the banks of River Cauvery in Srirangapatna this morning.
