SAARTHA: Lions District Convention tomorrow

Mysuru: Lions International District 317G, under the leadership of District Governor Ln. N. Subramanya, is conducting SAARTHA, the Second Annual District Convention, tomorrow (Apr. 20) at 10 am at KSOU Convocation Hall in city.

The Convention will commence with the parade of nearly 100 Lions Clubs, starting from Vignana Bhavan in Manasagangothri to culminate in front of KSOU auditorium, showcasing their banners and service projects.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi Deshmane, Padma Shree Awardee and Retired Director, Kidwai, will be the chief guest. Cine actor  Anirudh Jatkar, also a National Film Awardee, will be the guest of honour.

Ln. Dr. N. Krishnegowda, Multiple Council Chairperson; Ln. K. Devegowda, Cabinet Advisor; Ln. T.H. Venkatesh, Host Committee Chairman; Senior Lion dignitaries and more than 1,000 Lion members from Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar will attend.

During the inaugural session, five members of the District, who have completed 50 years in Lions, will be honoured. The members who have donated for Lions Clubs International Foundation will be recognised with MJF Plaques and PMJF Pins. The top 5 Clubs in membership growth will also be honoured.

The Presidential and Leadership Awards will be presented to outstanding performing Lions. The District Governor will present International President’s Certificates of Appreciation to Lions, who have excelled in various service and administrative activities during 2024-25. Inaugural session will be followed by two business sessions, where new leaders for District 317G will be elected. The Convention ends with presentation of next year’s theme and core Cabinet team.
