MCC Officials raid shop on D.D. Urs Road

Mysore/Mysuru: Following complaints, a team of MCC Officials raided a shop selling dates and dry fruits on D. Devaraj Urs Road on charges of selling spoiled and worm-infested dates and have seized the date packets from the shop on Thursday. The team led by MCC Health Observer Rajeshwari, which raided the shop, inspected date packets, found that they were spoiled and infested with worms and seized the packets which would be sent for testing.

MCC Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj, speaking to SOM said that worms were found in the dates packets which were spoiled and added that the dates packets had not expired according to the expiry date printed on the packets. He said that action would be taken against the shop owner based on the test report.
