Mysuru: ‘Samartha Sadvidya 2026-27’, an inter-collegiate competition organised by Sadvidya Composite Pre-University College, was held with grandeur recently.

The event was inaugurated by M. D. Gopinath, Secretary, Sadvidya Educational Institutions. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed his happiness over the achievements of the participating colleges.

Prof. M. S. K. Narahari Babu, President, Sadvidya Educational Institutions, presided and  stressed the importance of preserving cultural heritage while developing essential soft skills among students.

 Y.R. Ramesh, Principal, G.K. Indumathi, Vice-Principal and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff were present.

Students from various colleges actively participated in a wide range of competitions, including English and Kannada debate, Bharatanatyam, classical vocal, instrumental music, folk song, Bhavageethe, rapid chess, mono acting, quiz and film song.

The event concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony where the winners were honoured with trophies, prizes, medals and certificates.

Disha Ramesh, renowned theatre artiste, film actress and instructor at Natana Ranga Shaale, who was the chief guest, was felicitated by Sadvidya Institutions.

Addressing the students, she highlighted the importance of discipline and punctuality, which, she said, had played a significant role in shaping her life. She also emphasised the role of co-curricular activities in fostering the holistic development of students.

Prize winners

Pramati PU College bagged the Rolling Trophy for Rapid Chess, while Ramakrishna Vidyashala won the Rolling Trophy for English Debate. Jnanodaya PU College emerged victorious in seven events, securing Rolling Trophies. Sadvidya Composite PU College won the Rolling Trophies for Kannada Debate and Quiz.

‘Samartha Sadvidya’ provided a vibrant platform for young talents to showcase their skills, creativity and competitive spirit, making the event lively, memorable and truly rewarding for all.
