‘Karnataka Kalashree’ Dr. K. Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Dance, University College of Fine Arts, University of Mysore, Manasagangothri, Mysuru, was conferred with the National Award ‘Samskritika Sarathi’ at the ‘Nritya Saptaha,’ a National-level Dance Festival conducted by Natyantaranga, Sagara, from Nov. 27 to Dec. 3 at Natyantaranga auditorium in Sagara. He is seen with (from left) Vidu. Samudyata, M.L. Bhat, Dr. H.S. Mohan, B.V. Hegde and Vid. G.B. Janardhan. It was followed by a Bharatanatyam recital by Dr. Kumar and his daughters Lekha and Nidhi.
