Inter-Collegiate Bhavageethe and GK Quiz winners

Mysore/Mysuru: Vijaya Vittala PU College, Saraswathipuram, had organised “Sangeetha-Gnana Sudha”, an inter-collegiate Kannada Bhavageethe and G.K. Quiz contests on Aug.27 at the college premises. Over hundred students from various PU Colleges participated.

Smitha Srikiran, ‘A’ Grade Artiste – Akashavani, Mysuru and Director, Taranga Music Academy, Mysuru, inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that active participation in such contest brings out the hidden talents in students. Co-curricular activities are essential to develop confidence in life and enhance creative thinking. Music, dance and fine arts  as a routine brings balance in the state of mind, she added.

R. Vasudev Bhat, Hon. Secretary of Vijaya Vittala Educational Institutions, stressed on the importance of personality development which is essential for students along with academics.

H. Satyaprasad, Principal of the College, said that the institution has been organising “Sangeetha-Gnana Sudha” for the past 14 years.

Lecturer in Science H.N. Satish, who was the judge, conducted GK Quiz competition.  B.R.Mangala, Principal of Vijaya Vittala Vidyashala, was present on the occasion. Vaishnavi Datta, Hamsini S. Kumar and Amulya were the judges for Bhavageethe competition. Lecturer in Sanskrit K. V. Sanjaya compered. Lecturer in Hindi K. N. Pradeep welcomed. Vinayak invoked. Anitha, lecturer in Kannada, proposed a vote of thanks.

At the valedictory function, chief guest K. N. Prasad, Trustee, Vijaya Vittala Edicational Institution, distributed the prizes.

1st prize: J. Poorvi (S.B.R.R. Mahajana  PU College); 2nd prize:  Ruchitha Rajesh (Maharshi  PU College); 3rd prize:  Shravani (Jnanodaya PU College); Consolation prize: G. Khushi (Gnanaganga PU College). Rolling shield was awarded to S.B.R.R. Mahajana   PU College.
