Treasure hunters rediscover Mysuru’s places of interest

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Heritage Treasure Hunt that was organised yesterday morning with the tagline ‘Rediscover Mysuru’ received a good response with over 150 participants discovering man monuments and places of Mysuru city.

 The event began at Ursu Gymkhana Club and took the participants throughout the city of Mysuru through its monuments, places of interest and lesser-known destinations. The event was organised by Team Unbound, a brand of Twashtri with the goal of spreading awareness about the rich heritage and culture of Mysuru.  The winners were announced based on the number of locations discovered and tasks completed. Participants ranged from teens to veterans.

 At many of the locations, participants were required to do fun and engaging activities including a game of shuttle and guessing the correct ice-cream flavour when blindfolded. They were other tasks as well where participants had to guess the landmark from a series of old photos or name all the seven gates of Mysore Palace.

 The prizes were given by endurance cyclist Mahesh Choudhary, who recently became the first Mysurean to cycle London–Edinburgh–London, covering a distance of 1,540 kilometres, and Dr. Champa, Dean of Mysore School of Architecture.

 The winners of the treasure hunt are, Puneeth Mohan, Modith S. Raj, Suraj Kumar Gupta and Navya Ranganath (first place), V.N. Krishan, B.N. Nithyadhree and K. Aryan (second) and D.N. Phani Datta and Sudeep Nabha (third).
