Sangeetha-Gnana Sudha-2023: City-level inter-collegiate bhavageethe, GK quiz contests held at Vijaya Vittala

Mysore/Mysuru: Over hundred students from various PU Colleges participated in ‘Sangeetha-Gnana Sudha’ City-level Inter-Collegiate Kannada Bhavageetha and GK Quiz Contests organised by Vijaya Vittala PU College at its premises in Saraswathipuram on Sept. 14.

Chief guest G.S. Somashekar, Deputy Commissioner, Mysuru

City Corporation, inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he said that active participation in Bhavageethe and Quiz enhances the hidden talents in students.

He said that music and literature nurtures creative thinking in students so that they can excel in life with all success and glory.

A. Vishwanatha,  Trustee of Vijaya Vittala Educational Institutions (VVEI), in his presidential address, attributed that music is a language which leads to divinity. He advised students to gain knowledge by their inquisitive mind and by actively participating in such competitions.

Secretary VVEI, CA Vishwanatha, Trustee of VVEI, H. Satyaprasad, Principal of the College, Judges of Bhavageethe competition Meera Srikanth, Ashwin Prabhu and Amulya look on.

H. Satyaprasad, Principal of the College, said that the institution has been organising             ‘Sangeetha-Gnana Sudha’ for the past fifteen years.

R. Vasudev Bhat, Hon. Secretary of VVEI, was present.

Meera Srikanth, Ashwin Prabhu and Amulya were the judges for Bhavageethe contest.

Skanda rendered invocation. Shreevara welcomed. B. Namratha compered. Rohini proposed a vote of thanks.

Later in the valedictory, Vishwanath, Trustee, presided.  S.A. Veena, Principal of Vijaya Vittala Vidyashala, distributed the prizes. Prize winners are    as follows:

Bhavageethe

1st prize: Yogashree (Pramathi  Pre-University College); 2nd: Shreya Shreedhar (Sadvidya Semi Residential Pre-University College); 3rd: Anagha K. Bhat (Marimallappa   Pre-University College); Consolation prize: Tanish S. Varnekar (Sadvidya Pre-  University  College).

Rolling shield was awarded to  Pramathi PU College.

Quiz

1st: P.T. Aniruddh and S. Shivaraj (Sadvidya  PU College); 2nd: M.S. Adithya  and K.M. Hemanth (Marimallappa’s   PU College); 3rd: Samarth and Pratham Adithya Mohan (Jnanodaya PU College); Consolation prize: J . Shreya and S. Ashwini (Vidya Vardhaka PU College).
