Sangeethopanyasam on ‘Sharanagati’ by Vishaka Hari

Mysuru: Sangeethopanyasam on ‘Sharanagati’ by Vishaka Hari has been organised at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall, Krishnamurthypuram, tomorrow (Sept. 2) at 5.30 pm, under the aegis of Sri Ramanuja Sahasramanotsava Sambramacharana Samithi, Sri Ramanuja Sahasramana Sabha Trust and Sri Ramanuja Seva Pratishtanam.

She will be accompanied by A.K. Anantha Krishnan on violin, Arjun Ganesh on mridanga and Sukanya Ramgopal on ghata.

Profile: Vishaka Hari is a Karnatak music vocalist and proponent of Harikatha, otherwise known as a storyteller of Kathakalakshepam. She holds the rank of Chartered Accountant.

Vishaka Hari leant Karnatak music under the legendary Karnatak violinist, Padma Vibhushan Lalgudi Jayaraman. Her spiritual guru and father-in-law is Krishna Premi Swamigal (Anna). She learnt the art of Harikatha from her husband, Hariji, an experienced Harikatha exponent who delivers discourses in Tamil, English and Hindi.
