Sankranti ‘Kicchu Hayisuvudu’: Man succumbs to burns at hospital

Mandya:  A 35-year-old man, who suffered severe burn injuries after he fell on the fire during the Sankranti ritual of ‘Kicchu Hayisuvudu’ that involves bullocks and their masters running through the flames, at Chikkaballi village, has succumbed to burns at K.R. Hospital in Mysuru.

The deceased is Ravi of Chikkaballi in the taluk.

While trying to jump his cattle over the fire, Ravi’s clothes were caught in fire which was extinguished by the villagers. 

But Ravi, who had suffered nearly 80% burns, was rushed to K.R. Hospital, where he has succumbed to burn injuries, it is learnt. 

Keregodu Police have registered a case in this regard.
