Karnataka SaptapadiVivahaYojana, sponsored by the State Government, was launched on Jan. 10, 2020, to encourage weaker sections by providing monetary assistance.The programme of mass marriage under the scheme was suspended for two years in view of COVID-19. Now, the Government has resumed SaptapadiVivaha Scheme and mass marriages will be held on Apr. 28, May 11 and 25 in selected ‘A’ grade temples of Muzarai Department. The couples who had registered for marriages will tie knot in presence of their parents, relatives and the temple chief priest. Only 100 people are allowed during the marriage function.
