The Special Cell for the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) students, University of Mysore (UoM). has invited applications from eligible SC/ST research students for scholarships to be given as per the guidelines of UGC and UoM’s Ph.D rules. Students who are not from affiliated colleges of UoM and have scored 50% or more marks in Post-Graduate degree examinations can apply for research student scholarships for the year 2025-26, subject to approval of Syndicate meeting. A total of 20 research students will be selected for the scholarships.
Students are required to pay a fees of Rs.100 at SBI Branch of UoM and submit the original payment challan to Dy. Registrar, SC/ST Special Cell of UoM, Maharaja’s Centenary Hall, Mysuru and obtain the application between 10 am and 5.30 pm. The filled-in applications must be submitted before July 7 by 5.30 pm.
Along with the applications, students must provide documents like original Bank challan, approval letter of guide, temporary registration letter, copies of all marks cards (from SSLC to PG), caste and income certificates (within Rs. 2.5 lakh). Guides who give approval letters must be recognised by UoM. Students seeking scholarships under various Departments in Manasagangothri and affiliated colleges, Hyderabad Karnataka, Specially Abled and Sexual Minority quota must attest their documents by a Gazetted Officer. SC/ST students must submit their application through their guide/ Department Head/Director and Principal to the Special SC/ST Cell, according to a press release from UoM Registrar.
