Science has answer to several curious questions: Retired CFTRI Scientist

Mysuru: Maintaining that Science has answers to several curious and interesting questions, retired CFTRI Scientist B.R. Srihari called upon the students to learn Science with interest.

He was speaking after inaugurating Nobel Laureates’ Day organised jointly by Cauvery Educational Institutions and Karnataka Rajya Vignana Parishat (Karnataka State Science Council) at the Institutions premises in Kuvempunagar here on Tuesday.

Noting that students will have much curiosity among all things, Srihari opined that only Science can explain those questions that are challenging, tricky and intriguing. Observing that the Day was special as it was the birth anniversary of Nobel Laureates Marie Curie and Sir C.V. Raman, he said that both achieved much because of their sheer dedication, determination, confidence and love for their country.

Retired CFTRI Scientist B.R. Srihari and Cauvery Educational Institutions Chairman Prof. C.B. Kaveriappa are seen lighting the lamp during the inauguration of Nobel Laureates’ Day at Cauvery Educational Institutions in Kuvempunagar here on Tuesday. Others seen are Cauvery School Principal Krupalini S. Raj, Vice-Principal T.K. Gayathri, former CFTRI Scientist Srimathi Hariprasad, Vignana Parishat Convenor Prof. R. Anantharamu,  BVB Hon. Treasurer Prof. A.T. Bhashyam and Mysuru Kodava Samaja President B.M. Nanaiah.

He exhorted the students to emulate such Nobel Laureates and great personalities and strive hard to achieve much in their career by continuous learning and building confidence.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) Hon. Treasurer Prof. A.T. Bhashyam, in his address, said it was important to remember Alfred Nobel too along with the Nobel Laureates.

Underlining the role of scientists in coming up with innovations, discoveries and findings for the betterment of mankind, he called upon the Science fraternity to develop their thinking ability and come up with innovations that are largely beneficial to mankind.
