February 4, 2018

Mysuru: Science Ashram had organised a Moon Watching Session for science enthusiasts on Jan.31.

About 50 children between grades five and ten from various schools, accompanied by their parents, witnessed the rare celestial event at the Tinkering Lab in Vijayanagar.

The programme included a brief presentation on the origin of the universe and a video explaining the birth of the moon, and the three lunar phenomena of Super Moon, Blood Moon and Blue Moon. This session was followed by a quiz for children.

The participants queued up to watch this rare spectacle of the “Super Blue Blood Moon” through a Reflector Telescope. It was a first-time experience for most of the participants, according to a press release from Dhruva V. Rao, Director.
