Mysuru: A scooterist was killed on the spot, while the pillion rider suffered serious injuries, when the scooter fell into a drain following brake failure.
The deceased has been identified as Prahlad (56), resident of Mandi Mohalla, while the injured is Lalitha, wife of the deceased, is undergoing treatment at K.R. Hospital.
Yesterday morning, the couple had been to Subramanyanagar in Hebbal to attend a funeral and were on their way back at about 11.30 am, when the brakes of the scooter failed and fell into the drain near CITB Choultry.
V.V. Puram traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
Dr. CPK’s son-in-law succumbs to injuries: S. Mariswamy (61), retired official at the Minor Irrigation Department and son-in-law of littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK), who was seriously injured in an accident, succumbed to injuries here yesterday.
Mariswamy was proceeding on his scooter near Aishwarya Hospital in Vijayanagar 3rd Stage on Tuesday evening, when a car rammed into his scooter from behind resulting in him suffering serious injuries and admitted to a hospital, where he succumbed yesterday. He leaves behind his wife C.P. Pushpa, daughter M. Moulya and son M. Yashwanth.
V.V. Puram Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating.
