Strongly opposing Karnataka Government’s decision to scrap National Education Policy-2020 (NEP) in the State, several academic experts will take part in a meeting organised at V.K. Function Hall in Nazarbad at 11 am tomorrow (Sept. 28).
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, University of Mysore’s former Syndicate Member Dr. E.C. Ningarajgowda said the Union Government had introduced NEP-2020 in order to remove the imprints of colonial British education system. But the Siddharamaiah Government’s decision to scrap NEP is an act of prejudice and goes against the interests of education, he said adding that the meeting will discuss the effects of the State Government’s decision.
Former Kuvempu University VC Prof. K. Chidanandagowda, former Bangalore University VC Prof. Venugopal, CESS (Centre for Educational and Social Studies) Director Gaurish, former Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, writer Ravindra Reshme and others will take part.
