February 14, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Seeking fulfilment of their various long-standing demands, the staff of aided schools and colleges have threatened to indefinitely shut down educational institutions from Feb. 28 if their demands are not met by then.

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, the President of Mysuru District Unit of State aided Schools and Colleges Staff Association Dr. Sharathkumar said that the staff appointed in aided institutions before the year 2006 should be considered for old pension scheme.

The other demands included bringing all staff under Arogya Siri Scheme (Jyothi Sanjeevini), relaxation of norms in respect of appointments in aided institutions, simplification of renewal of recognition and  regularisation of D-Group employees, among others, he said.

Accusing the Government of showing disregard for staff of aided educational institutions, Dr. Sharathkumar said that repeated representations to the Government on fulfilment of demands have fallen on deaf ears. As such, the Government has been set Feb.26 deadline to fulfil the demands, he said adding that all aided schools and colleges in the State will be indefinitely shut down from Feb. 28 if the Government does not respond.

Association office-bearers B.R. Shivakumar, Siddaramu and M.M. Dinesh were present at the press meet.
