Seer abuses Veerashaiva Mutts and community members

November 6, 2017

The rally saw a few Seers using unparliamentary words against some Seers of Veerashaiva Mutts and community members.

Sri Basavajaya Mrutyunjaya Swamiji of Koodalasangama Panchamasali Mutt said that Veerashaivas are born to five fathers, while Lingayats are born to one father. “Veerashaivas follow five Peethas, hence they are born to five fathers. However, Lingayats follow Basavanna and hence they are born to one father,” he said.

Even as Veerashaivas staged protests over the Seer’s remark, Basavajaya Mrutyunjaya  Swamiji last evening tried to pacify the agitating Veerashaivas, saying that his words were misinterpreted.

“My intention was not to hurt anybody. The speech and words were projected in a different manner. Lingayats have one Guru and  Veerashaivas have five Gurus was the meaning behind the statement,” he said.
