Seer inaugurates Lions Regional meet

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Someshwara Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Shaakha Mutt, inaugurated the Regional Conference (Region-V) organi-sed by International Lions Association and Lions Clubs of District 317 A.

The event, with the theme ‘Friendship and Service,’ was held at Sri Bandanthamma Kalamma Samudaya Bhavan here recently. Items worth Rs.4.5 lakh contributed by the members were distributed to the needy persons. Columnist Dr. Gubbigudu Ramesh, MLA L. Nagendra, Lions Regional Chairman Ln.J. Lokesh were present.

International sportsperson Vijaya Ramesh, Special Teacher B. Kumaraswamy, social worker Channegowda, District President of State Government Employees Association J. Govindaraju and Pourakarmika Ratnamma were felicitated on the occasion.

Details of donors: Zone-5 President J. Lokesh donated Rs. 50,000  to Nagarika Vedike Poorna Pragna School for purchase of benches and desks.

Mysuru Lion Club donated Rs. 15,000 to Lions School for benches/desks, Ln. Shashikumar m-  Rs. 5,000, Lions Global Team leader N. Krishnegowda donated a pure drinking water unit worth Rs.60,000 to Jayalakshmidevi PU College, former Lions District Governor K. Devegowda and N. Krishnegowda donated a pure drinking water unit worth Rs 60,000 to H.D. Kote Lions School and Rs.50,000 towards merit scholarship for SSLC students, Lions Mid-town Club donated two pushcarts, Kuvempunagar Lions Club donated three sewing machines, one embroidery machine worth Rs 18,000 and Rs.10,500 worth drinking water filter to Hucchagani Government Primary School, Lions Millennium Club of Metagalli donated a pure water filter unit worth Rs. 50,000 and sponsored an artificial leg to a youth, Nanjangud Lions Club donated a drinking water unit to Government Schools of Srinagar, Madralli and Gontanahalli, Rs.9,000 worth Tabla to Vivekananda Youth Movement and sanitary vending machine to Nanjangud Govt. Girls High School.

Lions Ambassador donated CCTV worth Rs. 25,000 to Sunkathonnur Govt. PU College and Lions Chandana donated food articles worth Rs.15,000 and 15 blankets to Hootagalli Goodwill Home for the Aged.

 Lions First Vice-District Governor Ln. Dr. Prabha Murthy, Second Vice-District Governor Ln. Dr. Srividya, District Cabinet Secretary Ln. M.A. Srinath, District Cabinet Treasurer Ln. M.N. Nityananda, Lions Zonal Vice-Presidents Ln. Pratima Ramesh, Ln. R. Rajinikanth and Ln. N. Ravikumar were the special invitees.
