This seized bike has two different registration numbers and 76 cases!

November 6, 2017

Mysuru: The K.R. Police, who conducted ‘Operation Cheetah’ on Chamundi Hill Road here yesterday, stopped a Pulsar bike for checking and found that the bike had two different registration number plates.

While the front registration plate had the number KA-55 U- 885, the rear registration plate bore the number KA-55 U-85. When the cops asked the rider, identified as Ziaulla of Kalyangiri, to produce the documents, he failed to produce relevant documents following which the Police came to a conclusion that the numbers plates were fake.

The Police then checked through their Blackberry device and came to know that the registration number KA-55-U-885 was of a different vehicle and the owner was different.

As Ziaulla had 76 traffic violation cases, the owner of the vehicle with the registration number KA-55-U-885 had been served with 76 notices.

Though Ziaulla told the Police that he would pay the fines for all 76 cases, the cops, who did not receive the fines, have taken Ziaulla into custody for questioning.

The Police are now planning to summon the original owner of the vehicle with registration number KA-55-U-885 and take a letter stating that his vehicle’s registration number had been misused and then file a case against Ziaulla.

K.R. Police, who have taken up the investigation, has launched a hunt to trace the original owner.
