Mysore/Mysuru: The following have been selected for ‘Sri Basava Vibhushana and Sri Basava Bhushana’ Awards given by Suvarna Belaku Foundation and Sri Basaveshwara Samskruthika Pratishtana, Mysuru, in recognition of exceptional achievements in their respective fields.

The awards will be conferred at a programme as part of Basava Jayanthi celebration at Namana Kala Mantapa in Krishnamurthypuram here on May 15 at 11 am.

The following personalities have been selected for the Basava Bhushana Award: Sambamurthy (music), Dr. Kiran Sidlehalli (Literature), Prakash G.S. Halli (Environment Conservation), H.B. Sridhar (Education), Mallesh (Businessman & Social service), Ambika (Sports), Snake Prashanth (Snake Conservationist). Basava Vibhushana award:  Somashekar Swamiji

MLC C.N. Manjegowda will inaugurate the programme. Social Worker Dr. K. Raghuram Vajapayee will preside. District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal will offer floral tribute to the portrait of Basaveshwara. Karnataka Rajya Muktaka Kavi Parishat, Mysuru President M. Muthuswamy, Himalaya Pratishtana President N. Ananth, Belaku Foundation President Mahesh Nayak and Basaveshwara Samskruthika Pratishtana President Basavarajendra Swamy will be the chief guests.

Kiran Sidlehalli will deliver a lecture on Basava Sandesha. There will be a Kavi Goshti led by N.V. Ramesh of Abhiruchi Balaga.
