Selected for Karnataka Lalithakala Academy’s Varnashree award

Mysore/Mysuru: City-based artist Sivakumara H. Doddarasinakere has been selected for the ‘Varnashree’ award given by Karnataka Lalithakala Academy for the year 2025-26. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and a citation, said Academy President P.S. Kumar.

A resident of Vagdevinagar, Sivakumara has established an art school, named ‘Aramane School of Arts,’ and takes drawing and painting classes.

Sivakumara, who has been serving the art field for over 30 years, has been honoured with All India Dasara Award in Painting and Landscape during the years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2023; Kalatapasvi Award- 2008, Janapada Chetna Award-  2017 and Namma Ravi Varma Award-2022.
