Somwarpet:  There is good monsoon this year in the State and it is the right time to visit waterfalls. However, one wrong step and one has to pay with one’s life. Such a tragic incident occurred yesterday at Mallalli waterfalls, when a youth was trying to take a selfie and fell into the waters and met a watery grave.

Manoj (24), son of Nagaraju, a resident Sundaranagar in Kushalnagar, is the unfortunate victim who lost his life. He, along with his five friends — Arun, Anilkumar, Manju, Vijaykumar and Johnson — went to attend a wedding at Shanthalli Kumaralingeshwara Samudaya Bhavan.

After attending the wedding around 4 pm, the friends left on three motorbikes to see the Mallalli waterfalls.

It is said that Manoj slipped while taking selfie standing on the top of the waterfalls. His friend Anilkumar has filed a complaint regarding the incident in the Town Police Station.

As it was difficult to search for the body in the night, the search operations will begin today.
