Seminar on ‘Indian Nationalism’ at Teresian College

A National Seminar on ‘Facets of Indian Nationalism’ will be held at Teresian College in city on  Mar.30 and 31 in collaboration with Karnataka History Forum and Malabar Institute for Research and Development, Vadakara.

The seminar  will highlight some of the episodes of the peasant movement and their alternative ideology of violence against the authority. In fact the peasant nationalism has been responsible to bring out the dawn of freedom.

On the occasion, nonagenarian Prof. B. Sheikh Ali, a legendary Historian from Karnataka  and former Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore and Goa Universities, will be felicitated.

Prof. K.K.N. Kurup, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calicut, who has specialised in the History of Malabar region of South India, will deliver the keynote address. The Malabar Institute for Research and Development at Vadakara is the innovation of Prof. Kurup in the year 2002.
