Seminar on export highlights MSME trade opportunities

Mysore/Mysuru: The MSME-Development and Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Bengaluru, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, in association with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) Karnataka Chapter, had organised a seminar on ‘Export Essentials: Unlocking International Trade Opportunities’ at a private hotel in city recently.

The seminar aimed at equipping micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with critical knowledge of export processes and opportunities. Over 70 participants from the MSME sector attended the event.

Selvakumar EYA, Vice-President (Exports), N. Ranga Rao & Sons Pvt. Ltd., was the chief guest. R. Devaraj, Joint Director, MSME-DFO, B’luru, presided.

Other dignitaries included K. Shivalingaiah, Joint Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), Mysuru and K.B. Lingaraju, President, Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

In his welcome address, M. Shashi Kumar, IEDS, Joint Director, MSME-DFO, highlighted key export essentials such as product adaptation, quality compliance, market research, documentation, logistics, finance and risk management.

Danisha Minu, Dy. Director, FIEO Karnataka Chapter, spoke on the potential export products from Mysuru beyond coffee, including engineering goods, electronics & automobiles.

Sharing his insights, Selvakumar assured participants of his continued support & guidance.

Shivalingaiah outlined the Karnataka Govt’s schemes for exporters, while Lingaraju urged MSMEs to fully utilise the seminar’s technical sessions to enhance their export readiness.

Devaraj emphasised the importance of exports for micro and small enterprises and detailed the support available from the Ministry of MSME to help local entrepreneurs tap into global markets.
