Mysuru: – A UGC sponsored “Industry – Academia Interaction” seminar for UnderGraduate as well as Post-Graduate students and teachers was organised by the Post-Graduate Departments of Biochemistry and Chemistry, JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, B.N. Road, Mysuru recently.
The programme was inaugurated by N. Muralidhar Reddy, Vice-President, Operations, Jubilant Generics Limited, Mysuru. In his keynote address, he explained the functioning of jubilant pharmaceutical company which is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies globally and gave information about career opportunities for both Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate chemical and life science students in pharmaceutical industries.
Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, in his presidential address, emphasised on the importance and initiatives of Government of India regarding Industry – Academia interaction programmes in the higher education for better employment opportunities.
More than 200 Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate students from various Colleges of Mysuru took part in the interaction seminar.
Prof. M. Mahadevappa, Principal of the College, welcomed the guests. Dr. L. Mallesha, Head of the Post-Graduate Department of Chemistry, briefed about the seminar.
Dr. M. Chethan Kumar, Head of the Post-Graduate Department of Biochemistry, proposed a vote of thanks. Lasya, student of II year M.Sc., Biochemistry, rendered the invocation. Dr. B.V. Latha, Assistant Professor of PG Biochemistry, compered.
