Senior actress Bhargavi passes away

Bengaluru: Senior Sandalwood actress Bhargavi, passed away yesterday following age-related ailments. She was 84.

She was married to Belawadi Nanjundaiah Narayanan, fondly called Makeup Nani. She is survived by her children Sudha Belawadi and Prakash Belawadi.

Bhargavi had acted in many films and several plays in Kannada. Some of her famous films were ‘Eradu Kanasu’, ‘Hanthakana Sanchu’, ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’ and ‘Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake.’ She had also acted in TV serials such as ‘Manthana’ and ‘Mukta.’ Her autobiography, released in 2012, won many awards and accolades.

Bhargavi’s family said that she had pledged her body and her mortal remains were donated to St. John’s Hospital in Bengaluru.
