Mysore/Mysuru: L.S.N. Achar (86), senior artist and a resident of Vijayanagar 4th Stage, passed away in the early hours of today in city.

He leaves behind his wife Lakshmibai, daughter Sujatha, sons Sunil and Sudheer and a host of relatives and friends.

He was a recipient of Lalithakala Academy Award and has been honoured by various associations and organisations.

Though he was trained as a goldsmith by his father late Narayanachar, he obtained a degree in Law and had served as the Deputy Director of the Department of Land Records before retiring from service.

Last rites were held at Mukthidhama in Vijayanagar 4th Stage this afternoon, according to family sources.
